Short summary:
Meet Zahra, a medical doctor from Azerbaijan who chose Green Steps for her ESC year!
Do you have a Nickname?
Got no nicknames, actually.
Explain to a stranger what do you do for Green Steps?
I volunteer with Green Steps, where I support environmental projects and help raise awareness about sustainable living.
What is your daily routine? What is something you like doing and your coworkers maybe don’t know about you?
I’m working on a fantasy novel right now. Well, I need another ten years to finish it, no doubt. But it will be finished, I suppose.
Use less than 250 words to tell a story about yourself: starting from “where are you from” to the choice of joining Green Steps.
My birth came as a surprise to my parents, as I arrived just fifteen minutes after my sister, completely unexpected. This shaped my story in a humorous way. I went on to do unexpected and unusual things for my bloodline, such as getting accepted into medical school, starting to write stories, working in EMS, and then doing something even more unusual for my family—going abroad for volunteering. Now here I am at GreenSteps, carving out another path for myself and, hopefully, for others as well.
Mention a book you read as a teenager that still tells something about you, and that you would still suggest reading.
Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.
How do you expect you and Green Steps to have an impact in the next years? Close with a wish for the organization.
In the coming years, I hope both GreenSteps and I will promote sustainability and inspire positive change through small, consistent actions. I wish the organization continued growth and lasting impact.
