Short summary:

Green Steps announces the release of a new Peter Pan–themed digital quest in Herzogenburg, available on the ARK app. The trail guides visitors to local trees and cultural landmarks through playful storytelling and interactive questions.

Green Steps invites you to discover Herzogenburg through a brand-new digital quest on our ARK app  — a journey where environmental learning meets the magic of Peter Pan. Clicking on this link, you can access the quest and step into a playful trail that connects trees, cultural landmarks, and beloved elements of Neverland.

Each stop on the route is inspired by the Peter Pan story. These imaginative names are not just for fun — they encourage players to slow down, look closer, and engage more deeply with their surroundings.

At every location, the ARK app prompts visitors with small questions or observations. These encourage users to:
 notice shapes, textures, and details of local trees
 reflect on how cultural features connect with the landscape
 think about the role nature plays in shaping the identity of a place
This simple blend of movement, curiosity, and storytelling helps build ecological awareness in an accessible way.

At Green Steps, we begin with the urgent challenge of nature alienation — the growing distance between people and the nature around them. This image presents our solution to rebuilding that connection through networked, gamified, place-based education. We guide learners to walk and engage directly with their surroundings through place-based exploration; we help them build a bioregional curriculum that has roots in the discovery of the ecological and cultural aspects of where they live; and we invite them to play within a gamified learning environment that motivates curiosity and engagement. Together, these three components form an integrated pathway that reconnects people with nature, strengthens ecological literacy, and makes learning a fun and meaningful experience.

Why Peter Pan?
The story of Peter Pan is a reminder to stay curious, playful, and connected to the world around us. This quest uses that spirit to open a bridge between imagination and environmental understanding — helping children and adults see Herzogenburg not just as a town, but as a living, layered landscape worth protecting.
